Pumpkin Spice It Up

A yard or two of fabric and two spools of ribbon from Hobby Lobby can certainly go a long way! Here are a few photos of how we got into the fall spirit at our house. I hand painted the college craft pumpkins last year, so this year, all I had to do was set everyone out. Some chevron fabric, a sign I made on my Silhouette Cameo and some ribbon completed everything. Super simple.

For the entry way, all I did was cut a runner from the fabric- didn't even sew a hem and laid the ribbon on top.

I made this sign by using leftover fabric to cover a canvas. Cut the letter using my Silhouette Cameo and heat transfer material, ironed it on.

I hand painted these in 2011. They would have been way easier to cut vinyl for this year, but they still turned out cute.

Canvas Birth Announcement

I have been working to raise money for the nonprofit I volunteer for- Pink Door Nonprofit. I also serve on their board. I'll admit, I am not so good at asking donations, but I really wanted to find a way to support Pink Door. SO, I have put my crafting skills to use to make infant onsies and kid's shirts in exchange for a donation. The response by friends and family has been great (the shirts are $20 for one or $30 for two plus $5 shipping). ALL of the proceeds benefit Pink Door, which supports women cancer survivors and patients who are struggling to make ends meet.

A friend of mine asked me to branch out and make a birth announcement canvas for her son. While I would use a lighter fabric next time, I think it turned out adorable! So, I am sharing the end result. In the spirit of fundraising, I will also make one in return for a donation to Pink Door Nonprofit. The suggest donation is $30 for a 14x14 sign, but if you have another figure in mind, just email me. I can customize the fabric, colors, graphics, etc. Here was the trial run for Hunter's sign. I used the leftover fabric from my Halloween decor, so I would definitely use something a little less bold for the background, but I have to admit, it turned out very cute!

What do you think?

If you'd like to order one, please email me at shawnelindsey@gmail.com. I am taking donations through my Pink Door fundraising site. My goal is to raise $2,500, this will assist one cancer survivor in 2013. I am 60 percent to my goal!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

Here's a sneak peak at the onesies... if you want to learn more you can find that post here.
